Our Scout Master
Mr. Brad Gomez became Troop 118’s Scoutmaster in September, 2017. He is the 24th Scoutmaster to serve Florida’s Capital Troop 118 since its charter in 1951.
Mr. Gomez did not participate in Scouting as a youth but became involved in 2010 when his sons joined the Suwannee River Area Council’s Pack 118 as Cub Scouts (a Tiger Cub and a Webelos I, respectively). He was an active Akela within the Pack and deeply appreciated the committed adult leaders who gave their time and talents to “help the Pack go” and the “Cub Scouts grow.”
When his youngest son joined Troop 118 in March 2015, Mr. Gomez became a member of the Troop Committee and an Assistant Scoutmaster soon thereafter. Mr. Gomez is a proud member of the Bobwhite (that’s Robert White to you) Patrol from Woodbadge S4-664-17-1, and he is actively “working his ticket.”
Favorite Scout experience: Leading the boys of Troop 118 to Camp Woodruff and hiking every morning in the beautiful North Georgia mountains. While other adult leaders were in rocking chairs on the front porch of the Leader Lounge, Mr. Gomez, Mr. Lopez, and Mr. Pagano hiked to the top of Mack Mountain!
Nickname: “History Channel” (because every time Mr. Lopez asks Mr. Gomez a question, he responds with a history lesson)
